HP and Beats Electronics, LLC, today announced an alliance to achieve higher-quality sound from digital music through technology innovation. The HP ENVY 15 Beats limited edition notebook PC with integrated Beats Audio emerged from close collaboration between legendary artist and producer Dr. Dre, chairman of Interscope Geffen A&M Records and Beats co-founder Jimmy Iovine, and HP engineers. I update my OS from 8.1 to Win 10 and then subsequently updated to the anniversary edition. My Beats Audio controls disappeared and the sound is now very muted and flat from the enclosed speakers. How do I restore a driver that will return the Beats functionality?
my hardware ids (for sound, video and game controller) are:
HDAUDIOFUNC_01&VEN_14F1&DEV_5045&SUBSYS_103C30A5&REV_1001
HDAUDIOFUNC_01&VEN_14F1&DEV_5045&SUBSYS_103C30A5
I should mention that I had a reply saying that after he tried my method he got his sound back but his mic wasn't working !! But it could not have been the c500 because they don't come with a mic.
Also bellow is Mike Hall MVP's suggestion that worked on my computer as well.
Now remember mine was Conexant but Realtek driver is working fine
I just don't like the word generic... see my original post below
The solution comes from the from the manufacturer of the audio chip.
If you have Realtek audio, you can get Windows 10 drivers here..
http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/
If you do NOT have Realtek Audio, go to the computer manufacturer website to determine who makes the audio chip for your computer..

PROBLEM SOLVED
Windows 10 home edition, HP Compaq C500 (c581wm)
Conexant High Definition SmartAudio HD2 Driver (for sound, video and game controller) does NOT work with windows 10 !
High Definition Audio Device Driver DOES WORK!
This is how mine was fixed
- If reinstalling the driver doesn't work, then try using the generic audio driver that comes with Windows. Here's how: in Device Manager, right-click (or tap and hold) your audio driver > Update driver software... > Browse my computer for driver software > Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer, select High Definition Audio Device, select Next, and then follow the rest of the instructions to install it.
hope this will help
